A Successful Training Week in India
Week 42 marked the successful conclusion of several months of collaborative learning activities within the PEP project. Since August, 30 participants from 12 different partner institutions have engaged in online courses delivered through N-EXCELL, focusing on Clinical leadership and decision-making, Hyperglycaemia in pregnancy, Simulation-based learning, and the Design of online and blended learning.
The programme culminated in an intensive onsite training week at AIIMS Delhi, where participants had the opportunity to translate theory into practice through workshops, simulations, and peer learning activities. The week celebrated the achievements of a strong partnership between College of Nursing, AIIMS and Danish University Colleges and provided a valuable platform for sharing experiences and strengthening educational capacities.
The week in Delhi highlighted the value of international collaboration in strengthening nursing education. By combining expertise, sharing experiences, and learning from one another, the participants have gained new insights, expanded professional networks, and developed practical tools that will support the continued improvement of nursing education and healthcare practice.
One of the contributions from the Danish University Colleges was a tabletop simulation on counselling women with hyperglycaemia in pregnancy. During the exercise, participants took on the roles of either nurses or patients and applied different theories and approaches to communication, motivation for lifestyle behaviour change, and patient-centred counselling.
The simulation also introduced a structured feedback approach, encouraging participants to reflect on both strengths and areas for improvement. Through dialogue, role-play, and feedback, participants strengthened their communication and counselling skills, enabling them to better support patients in making informed decisions about their health and wellbeing
